YouTube under the arms of Google, at a high price

I wanted to post this yesterday when it was publicly announced but didn’t get a chance to.
As you may already know, Google acquired YouTube for 1.65 billion! Chad Hurley and Steve Chen should get about $200 million each. Wow! For a 27 year old, that is not too bad. Another thing that amazes me is that they founded this business in February 2005, that’s less than 2 years ago!
I was able to meet Steve Chen and the rest of YouTube in February of 2006. They are a great group of people. Very talented, motivated and of course, technical.
I am extremely happy for them. They had a good idea, worked hard and became noticed.
