Crocodile Hunter, Life Cut Short
Today is a sad day in the eyes of environmentalists, nature-lovers, and crocodile enthusiasts as Steve Irwin, “The Crocodile Hunter,” passed on. The Crocodile Hunter gained so much attention for doing what he loved best, hunting crocodiles. With that cute Australian accent and welcoming personality, people all over the world were tuned in to watch him go on risky wildlife adventures. He made learning about the wild interesting and fun for people of all ages. Even if you weren’t really into the wildlife before, if you saw him on T.V., you gained some sort of interest in what he did. He did things nobody had done before, and if they had, he was the first to gain huge media attention. He was on JAY LENO and other popular shows.
I love the Crocodile Hunter and was so sad to know that he had passed. Although it is very difficult to see someone like him leave, he did die in a way that he would have wanted most. He was killed by a sting ray while filming a documentary on “Ocean’s Deadliest” in the Great Barrier Reef. Althought extremely tragic and unfortunate, he most likely wouldn’t have wanted it anyway else. He is survived by his wife and two children.
Hopefully, his story will bring inspiration to many other wild life enthusiasts and that the world will continue to learn more about our environment, conservation and protecting our wildlife.
