A Hot Chicago Marathon hits home

Yesterday was the La Salle Bank Chicago Marathon, one of the most popular, eventful marathons on the running calendar. The Chicago Marathon is known for it’s flat course, event organization, beautiful run through the city and most importantly, the spectators. 45,000 runners were registered for this marathon yesterday. Adventures in Toronto

I am visiting Toronto, Canada this week. PEER 1 was hosting a leadership meeting and a customer event here. I arrived Monday and will stay until Sunday. PEER 1 activities for the week have ended and what a memorable time it was. The other half of the trip is for personal vacationing. I will note […]

San Antonio Lime Disease

I started noticing these dark spots splattered all over the top of my hands. I have had these spots for about 2 weeks now. They don’t itch and they aren’t bumpy. They are just a darker pigmentation. I do have sensitive skin but this is something I had never seen before. They always say that […]

Lunar Eclipse

We woke up at about 4:30am this morning to check out the lunar eclipse. It was bit cloudy so it was very hard to see anything. I got a snapshot of it, a bit blurry though. You can read more about this lunar eclipse at their dedicated page on the NASA site.

Child abuse has to stop

I am watching the news and it seems like everyday there is a case of child abuse. Tonight, I heard the worst.
A little girl is found dead from severe physical abuse, and tonight, the eight year old’s adoptive parents are in jail, charged with injury to a child.
The child was emaciated and in really poor […]

The goal, obviously, is to improve the […]

RAIN, but still in STAGE 1

So my last blog posting “It’s Raining” said I would update you the next week. So it’s been a little over a week, sorry about that. Anyhow, it did rain in San Antonio, thank goodness! It was so weird (but wonderful) to see, smell and feel the rain because we did not have rain for […]

It’s Raining!

Yes, it is finally raining in San Antonio. As mentioned in my previous blog entry, we were in a 17 month drought. Although it is not raining hard, just a light rain, it has been consistent. The forecast says we are expected scattered thunderstorms until next Thursday. And to top it all off, the temperature […]

Crocodile Hunter, Life Cut Short

Today is a sad day in the eyes of environmentalists, nature-lovers, and crocodile enthusiasts as Steve Irwin, “The Crocodile Hunter,” passed on. The Crocodile Hunter gained so much attention for doing what he loved best, hunting crocodiles. With that cute Australian accent and welcoming personality, people all over the world were tuned in to watch […]

Dr. Pianka, Crazy or Logical?

I just recently read an article in last’s Sunday’s Express News regarding how a UT Austin zoology professor believes there will soon be a world wide human population crash . What has gotten him the most attention has been his striking quotes, one being the following:
“I actually think the world will be much better […]
