Little League Baseball

My superstar younger brother is playing Little League baseball and I like to think of him as the next Alex Rodriguez, but as his older sister, I might be biased.
We have been going to see his games lately and what a blast it is! There is something about Little League baseball games. Something that makes you feel like a kid again. These are 8-10 year old kids that put their every effort into one baseball game. Their only worry in the world is to win this game. Tomorrow, it might be making a good grade on a test. The next day, it might be waking up early to watch their favorite cartoon. But right now, it’s about winning the baseball game. As you watch them put every effort into hitting that ball, you feel yourself putting every effort into cheering for them to hit that ball. It’s almost as if you are out there on the field playing…but not really.
Have you ever watched the movie Traffic? Well, there is a reference to Little League baseball games. The good Mexican cop was giving important information to US Law Enforcement regarding the drug cartels. The US cops asked the Mexican cop what he wanted for providing the information. And his answer was this “I want to be able to see kids play baseball games at night” (without worrying about violence interfering). He didn’t want money, he wanted something more valuable. I know what he means when he says this.Kaledon Kaleida Kaleidoscope
When we go see my brother play, we bring family and friends together to enjoy a good summer ball game. We are giving kids the opportunity to be a superstar. Every kid should be given this opportunity. No child should be deprived of this because you are only a child once in your life.
If you don’t have kids or know any kids, I encourage you to find a Little League baseball game somewhere and watch for a little while. Sometimes all you need is a Little League baseball game to remind you on what’s important in life. It’s a good feeling.
My brother’s team ended up making it to the Championship game but lost in the last inning. They won friendship and won the respect of each other. It was a good season for them. My brother did make it to the All Start team. Maybe I am not biased when I say he is going to be the next Alex Rodriguez ☺

  1. I think it is great to look at your brother (my nephew) as the next Alex Rodriguez because it makes them as a child feel good about themselves knowing how their family feels about them. It gives him something to shoot for in life and with the love and support of his family he can and will accomplish anything in life he wants. Family support and love should be a priority in every childs life.
